Legacy

Legacy

A Poem by Jennesis
"

For my grandmother

"
Smoky liquid tendrils
Connection to her
Tasting the smell of scotch
On her breath
Clink of ice against
Glass walls of resolve
Holds her place in my being
Yet still longing for her wisdom
Holding on to already imparted gifts
“Jennifer, you tell them!”
Yes, I have learned
Not to hide my true voice
Beneath the mask of strength and independence
If only we could share
One more bottle of wisdom...
Tuesdays always lead into Sundays
The knowing of her tenacity
Lives within me
And the taste of scotch
On my tongue
Cements her legacy promised
On the Eve of the end
Living through our memories
And the feeling of scotch in my soul...

I came by to "see" if you were here still...

was an honest read, I remember the tastes of the memories - each and every one.

How are YOU holding up... stress is palpable for so many. Catching a breath is hard to do, but I gather you already know that.
