The SurrenderingA Poem by JennesisIt’s about letting go of all the things we protect ourselves with.
Her armor,
Her second skin Hard and rigid underneath Soft flesh and a bright smile Ensuring limited access Her weapons Her protection Sometimes holstered Sometimes drawn Always on guard Her trust Her fragility A currency so precious Protected in the vault of her strength and determination He came in, A surprise storm A soaking and gentle rain Softening her Seeing her Creating a river oasis That washed away Her Alamo’s last stand His need His strength Connecting and seeing Unknowingly disarming Venomous fangs Silver tongues Stubborn defiance Weapons unnecessary In his safe embrace Her armor, old and worn, Crumbled in His handling of Her beautiful strength His security His awareness Not needing her to be less strong Releasing the surrendering From deep within her soul Naked submission continuing Unfolding willingly Patiently being taken Along the river bends, Flowing into futures unknown © 2018 JennesisReviews
