The full circle of the day nearly complete
A pair of pure white doves, stark and sharp against
Bright blue sky
A sight rarely seen in the wild
Wings gracefully soaring, gliding, and flapping
Away from the approaching storm
My eyes follow their flight
The sight
Reminds me that our souls
Are meant to be paired
As we soar and struggle through
Winds of change, sunny days,
the chaos of storms.
Freedom wings come in sets of two
It's love that blows the wind
Beneath the wings of our lives
Feathers are bound in harmony
Prepared for water, wind, or rain
How you fill your words with such freedom in this beautiful connection of two into one. So often see pairs of eagles and herons here in Arkansas, and it is pure delight to watch them flowing together through the whispering soft skies. Your poetry reminded me of the thought that we each have only one wing, and so can only fly when embracing another. Your thoughts on love and unity give the essence of a true heaven on earth. xo

Thanks so much Echoes. I appreciate it. I love the pairing we see in nature.
Some very soft and endearing thoughts for a very me-oriented world.

Life is very much a Taoist balance... The east has long been honored for extending this paired vision of all things. Yet, even a child will seek to finish a puzzle without being told to do so. It is obvious, we are meant to be connected, intertwined, community. Does one soul truly need the one matching piece? I do not know. Yet I am sure we were never meant to fly alone...
Beautiful thought and a read worth contemplation.

That is so true. I believe we have infinite matches for our souls, as our hearts have infinite capacity for love. I don't think we can love with our whole heart, but we can love completely.
One thing I know for certain, Jenn,
Nothing this beautiful and core-touching comes from a source that does not feel it, think it, live it within themselves on some intrinsically deep and meaningful level.
This is almost dreamlike in its soft, alluring voice that plays with, dances on, the most tender of my senses.
There is a personal, very poignant, real-life story, one day I would like to share with you about two birds, but it is lengthy to share here.
Techy stuff: Work on your format; break the longer lines, Jenn, and group each meaningful thought and moment, that the reader may pause to absorb its essence, rather than each line running-on into the next. Return to the impacting format of your first poem. : )
"Just some thoughts", indeed … goodness-ME!
To think that which you see, feel, think, and so beautifully embrace from Nature we see now dancing so vividly before us … such wondrous moments shared from your mind, heart, and soul upon your page by a pen skilled enough to make it real.
"It's love that blows the wind
Beneath the wings of our lives
Feathers are bound in harmony
Prepared for water, wind, or rain
That is why
Together we fly
For and with love."
Sheesh! How can it get any better than that!
Ah well, I could go on, but I've no adequate words to say it more beautifully, clearly, or meaningfully than you have.
I love it dearly, Jenn … thank you! ⁓ Richard

It's very helpful for me. I've never been formally trained as a writer. So I will definitely take that into consideration. And yes definitely feel like this is a central theme in my life. I feel like we can only write what we know, at least I can only write what comes from my true spirit. I would love to hear about your bird story one day. Jenn
I like this work and find the imagery astounding in a natural native way that's very appealing. I don't know if I fully agree with the sentiment though. Sounds great. It's the way things should be. Very well written. CD
All I can say is WOW 😇 so beautiful..true poem about doves they stick together once paired if one dies the other will with it.. we are paired together just like them but great job I love it..
