Maybe, JustA Poem by JenA thousand rhymes in a thousand lines I must’ve dreamt of it a thousand times When the hurt runs deep Invading your sleep, your will to keep
To keep your morals in line To once again feel fine To get back up on your feet Never accepting the impending defeat
There’s no air, no air And it just isn’t fair You find the line Becoming ever more fine
Between righteous and unfair But we’ve all done our share Of secrets we’ll never tell That’ll grant us passage in to hell
So maybe we all deserve that fate For all of the things we give hate For all the nights we went to bed Without batting an eye for the evil we’ve done or said
But maybe, just maybe.
Maybe most of us are good And we do the things we’re told we should We forgive ourselves and move on with our lives We find a way to survive.
Amidst the clouds that gather in our heads Reviving the emotions once thought to be dead Trying, trying, Now we’re flying, flying.
Soaring through a newly clear blue sky Watching the day slide into night The cold, reaching for our core We ache to once again soar.
Beyond the clouds, we sit with the stars On top of the world, we’ve hidden our scars The past is just now catching it’s breath As it stares you in the eye, as poisonous as meth
Maybe, just maybe
We can’t escape the things we’ve done There’s no fighting it, you can’t run. Move on, move on, for the love god. Put your pride on hold and accept that you’re flawed.
Then maybe, just maybe You’ll be okay again © 2013 JenReviews
