infestationA Poem by JennaBlodgetta poem about whatever-there’s bugs controlling me i am infested and i want to pick out every last bug. mostly flies and cockroaches- the disturbing kind of bug. and if this buzz continues down into my soul I might have to move i’ll do anything to kill it it chatters my teeth upsets my stomach blurs my eyes i go to the store looking for pyrethroids to ride me of these pests though i’ve found the ridding of pests rids me of all the good. the spider in the dusty corner with which i have a symbiotic relationship. the butterflies which sometimes make their way through the open window to bring me joy the ladybugs i find clinging to my clothes which i think bring me good luck it even kills the grass outside. the store has nothing for me that gets rid of all bad and preserves all good so I leave empty handed “it’s a blessing” some say like i should be a f*****g cockroach enthusiast yes, butterflies, ladybugs and spiders are surely blessings but sometimes I wish all bugs were extinct because with no bugs, i’ll be clean and quiet © 2024 JennaBlodgettAuthor's Note
