We're Chasing The Sun

We're Chasing The Sun

A Poem by jnl.behappy
"

Not my best work, but I wrote this on the plane flying into the sunset.

"
We're chasing the sun
That red, orange, yellow ball of desire
Chasing it down across the land
But eventually it'll hide from view

I'm high up, higher than humans are meant to go
And yet, I'm safe
I'm sound
And I'm chasing that ball of flaming gas
All across the sky
I'm sharing its sky
Yes, I'm sharing its sky
I'll find it
But no matter how fast I go, I can chase it
But it's too fast for me
Yes, I'll try, but the sun will hide from my view
And I'll see it again tomorrow

Get's me thinking about people's goals and desires in life. That we see what we want and we chase it, but we may not get it. However, it'll still be there tomorrow. Great metaphor within the lines.
