I am small, Earth. But so are you.

I am small, Earth. But so are you.

A Poem by Jenna Kay

White sunlight
Baby blue sky
Pure green grass swaying careless in an easy breeze
I lay with the soft earth flowing around me
Taking in
Breathing
Existing
Trying to feel every feeling
Notice every shade of green, blue, white
My fingertips dancing through the miniature forests
Soft, cool
Light, my being full
Eyes wide, desperately attempting to consume every bright, beautiful, ephemeral hue
My own colors fleeting
Holding onto the sunlight by my lips, for inside we are darkness
Thick, heavy, dense
Born of the stars and trying hard to shine as brilliant
But on the face of my Earth, I look at the sun and wonder how much smaller I would be on her cheeks
Oh, how close I would be to everything that made me
For now, I am still
Existing
Bathing in greens and relativity, feeling the complete second of life that I am

I really like the title. And I like the whole concept here. Your imagery and word choice was perfect in showing that connection between the Earth and the Speaker and that is something to be admired.

Bathing in greens and relativity, feeling the complete second of life that I am seems like I am living a life and not just growing old with days. Amazing!

Beautiful, gentle and worthwhile words.
"For now, I am still
Existing
Bathing in greens and relativity, feeling the complete second of life that I am"
I like the lines above a lot and I agree with your logic. Thank you Jenna for sharing the excellent poetry.
