But behind the smile

There is some truth

Convincing, pleading

There is some proof

I'm here, I'm living

I know that's true

And if I'm breathing 

I'll make it through

I'm a secret long kept 

Ready to be told

Opening my heart

For others can hold

My tortured colors

Don't always bring pain

There's always a rainbow

After it rains

I am a mess

But I'm also strong
No one so weak 

Could make it this long

I have my moments

But I will shine

No darkness could cloud 

A painted mind
