Deceived

Deceived

A Poem by Jenna Harding

                                  Deceived

"Liar".

The word resonates yet remains unsaid.

Deception trickles from the tongue so easy,

In the mind it's gospel.

Venomous profanities spring forth.

Bite down, hold back

Despite every fibre screaming for truth.

Words exchanged in dark hours resurface,

Sounding so sincere to the naive mind.

Worthless, voicing only what's pleasing to the

Listener.

A smile. An unanswerable question.

Defeated, the requisite response delivered.

It's over and done.

The majority left unsaid.
