Release

Release

A Poem by Jenna Harding

   Release

Thoughts of the unacceptable fill the

Brain to bursting.

Teeth tease lip, distracting,

But temptation builds, blossoms.

Eyes dart for the hiding place.

Two strides, two seconds,

It would be in hand.

All over in a few moments, then

Release would be the reward.

Nothing else works, give it a try.

Eyes close, desperate not to cry.

You give in.
