N-J

A Poem by Jenna Harding

                                   N-J

Pictures.

Flickering silver screen movie reels

Are all I'll ever know.

Platinum baby. Siren.

A long way from your natural roots brunette.

Like me. And that's not the only thing we have in common is it?

Publicity helped.

Fudged, frequently falsified.

So much that fact eventually blurred into fiction,

Even for you.

All smiles, laughs, titilating giggles.

But no one saw the true, unpolished reality,

The pain, rivers shed over failed nuptuals.

The crimson cascade that signalled another dead hope.

It's a miracle you lasted as long as you did.
