Malice

Malice

A Poem by Jenna Harding
"

The two lines at the beginning are from the song 'Sorry' by Madonna. Just borrowing them, they don't belong to me.

"

                                 Malice

"I don't wanna hear, I don't wanna know,

Please don't say you're sorry..."

Words pulsate round her head,

Ringing all too true.

What before was fury, white hot rage

Is replaced by nothing.

Not even numbness.

She's had her fill to the brim, now

This little storm in a tea cup overflows.

All the words trapped in the back of her throat,

Ascerbic remarks that would cut deep,

Threaten to pour.

But they are bitten down, stale crackers

To rot a little longer in her oesophagus.

Of course nothing is said,

It's a perpetual ballet on eggshells around here.

But one day...
