While My City Gently Weeps

While My City Gently Weeps

A Poem by Jenna Harding
"

Written after the events of 7/7

"

                             While My City Gently Weeps

Joy and celebration to panic and terror

Takes a few short hours.

Evil caused chaos, halts my city's veins.

Spilled blood bathes her streets,

Pained cries and screams still echo

Through the silence.

She will rise again.

Rebuild and heal her wounds.

This proud warrior stands tall through time.

She survived ten years of bombs.

She will not yield to these cowards.
