Unrequited

Unrequited

A Poem by Jenna Harding
"

Something that came to me in a Math lesson about three years ago.

"

                Unrequited

Heart breaks, soul aches,

Yearning for something I can not possess.

Tears well, pain swells,

Fighting the feelings that I must suppress.

Endless night stretched out behind me,

Lonely day stretched out ahead.

Isolated by thick walls that I've built,

Reflecting on words that I never said.

I see the way you look at me,

It tells me that you care.

Despite the fact, I know you would

Survive were I not there.

I sit alone and watch the sea,

Waves crashing on the bay.

The sun rises and it dawns on me

You'll never see me that way.

Sounds very deep, dark, brooding, and depressing - but that's the kind of writing that I do, so good job and I hope that I hear more from your poems and stories.
