How Do You See?

How Do You See?

A Poem by Katannaism
"

I hardly experience real friendship. Because I'm good at art and lit, people just befriended me because of the talent I grasp. So its a touchy subject for me.

"
How do you see-
A person faking their feelings?
When they say 'Hi'.
When they first compliment you.

How do you see-
When someone has the actual connection?
That special bond-
Then expands...
Into a flock.

How do they cope?
With the fakery.
The pretenses.
The untruth they lived with.
The act.

Or are many of them;
aspiring actors?
And I'm dress rehearsal?
At opening night;
they toss you aside...
Without a word.

How does one do it?
Pull back the thick heavy curtains..
And unveil the actor's secrets...
His ploy...

Or do we go backstage?
And find them;
a simpleton.
A brown-noser.

How do you see-
Through their eyes?
Into their soul?
Their deepest wants?

Jethrow claims;
we must see through Heaven's eyes.
But Heaven rejected me years ago-
And I have to burn the midnight oil.

I look harder than stone.
But everyday-
with the fakery.
The faux.
I ask myself.

How do you see?

Love this poem! Very well written. Its sad how certain people can be "fakes". But really, people's true self reveals itself in its time. You will sense who's being true, you will know. I love the emotions coming from this poem. ^^ Nice poem!
