A bit too soon, but I accepted you. 

And happiness settled in. 

Everything felt right. 

Once, you convinced me we would last.

That we would go far.

Together.

And forever. 

Once, you had me believe I was the only one. 

I know now that it was a lie. 

A lie to reel me in. 

Or to humor me. 

Was I that easy to toy with?

Was I really that naive?

Was I really that annoying?

Was everything really that bad to you?

For once, you wouldn't go a day without me. 

No, not wouldn't. Couldn't. 

And neither could I. 

There was a pain with your absence. 

Once, one kiss wasn't enough. 

5 seconds wasn't enough. 

Your warm embrace protecting me. 

And that you would provide me comfort. 

Where did those beautiful times go?

And the memorable words?

The cherished moments?

That still live in my heart. 

But I gave my heart to you...
