Stolen GlancesA Poem by JeneenessWe discussed your facial expressions: we could only identify two. One includes a smile, which can spell out many things. And the face of indifference, which can spell out many things. As I try to read any expression of emotion, I fall deeper and deeper into my search. I have also seen your face of annoyance, in my attempts to grab your attention ever so briefly. But what else can I do? I told myself I wouldn't take any chances, But how long can I survive on solely stolen glances? I have seen your face of deep thought, trying to grasp an idea I have suggested. How I wish I can hear these thoughts. I believe you're held back due to the current circumstances, I subtlety continue observing via stolen glances. Getting closer has ironically pushed us away. Sharing a laugh with you, has been the highlight of my day. Make no mistake, I am far from fallen, But I can already imagine crashing to the ground. I have decided to stop looking to start new romances, instead taunting my heart and soul, to make due with stolen glances. As I try to understand anything to do with you, I am too blinded to see. I am too blinded to realize, why on earth would you want me? I sit in the shadows of my thoughts, waiting for an answer to any of my inquiries. sitting in the shadows of my thoughts, as time advances, surviving on a spare number of words, and stolen glances.
