Sappy Poems

Sappy Poems

A Poem by Jen Marie

 I’m stuck writing sappy poems

About how much I miss you

And Want to be near you

I use words like

desperately

longing

lonesome

When I really want to use words like

anger

tearing

broken

Because being alone

Shouldn’t sound like a stroll

Through spring lilies

But instead a trudge

Over broken glass

There’s no doubt I miss you

And want to be near you

But distance like this

Can kiss my a*s

And if time had a face

I’d have somewhere to punch it

And if I could

I’d break its arm

Until then

To when I see you next

I’ll use those soft phrases

Beautiful words

To ease my anguish

With one exception

This f*****g sucks
