My Man

My Man

A Poem by Jen

Emotions of acidic longing fill my veins
Barren of hope are my dreams
My tales of a White Knight dust in the wind
Has love forsaken me here alone?

Pain gains its grip on my joyful smile
Grasping to hold on...
Dreams of warmth and thoughts shared dwindle
Where is that man who would keep me warm
That one soul who shows me loves twlight
As I in return show him his soul

My head hangs lower now
Despair teases my mind
Pondering between steaming cups
Opening the front window to winter air
There in sunlight he stood

My Man...smiling
He was here waiting for me too

Nicely done. Until the end I was thinking of my words to you, to hang on to hope as love will find you again and then surprise, you are still discovering each other anew. Great piece with good flow and lots of love.
