Lovely, Jennie! This is a great testament to those who strive to be different and not fall into the constant mold, which I can assume is the "black umbrella". I love the choice of color for the umbrella, what inspired it? I myself have a blue one (with polka dots) haha. :)
Enjoyed it a lot! Well done :):)

Love your blue polka dot one, though! This is simply about standing out from the crowd and being memorable (in a positive way, of course). I'm so happy you liked it!
Simple but says a lot, about how how lifestyles are often reflections of our choices of materials and goodies. The jaded ones often opt for the brightest colours while the gloomy ones like the dullest colours. what an insightful write. kudos
what fun is it to be different.. to color outside the lines.. to be the bright quirky crayon in the box... I loved the message in this one, and agree wholeheartedly.. :)

It's very nice that we agree and I appreciate the good word wholeheartedly. Many thanks!
Well unique and lovely.
Very nicely penned.
And the best thing about being a writer is that we find poetry and beauty in things that people juat see and pass by.
Very well done.
Enjoyed it!
Thank you for sharing.

The first thing I noticed in China was how many people carried an umbrella, of all different colours and patterns, not to protect them from the rain, but from the sun. The Chinese, having a light yellow skin already, hate to get sunburnt, as to them pale skin is the most beautiful. So it was a sight, for a westerner, to see this forest of umbrellas marching at lunchtimes to the various eating places on campus. Your poem reminded me of this, Jennie.

Quiet pleasurable thoughts you`ve dripped down into the pages. It reminds me `bout the colorless rain fulled of "colors". Nice imagery.

Can't express how much I love this. Awesome idea and language. Very creative taking something as random and ordinary as an umbrella color and turning it into a portrayal of character.

Your words and your reading are much appreciated, Amanda.
Nice portrayal of your umbrella coilor-analysis. I usually go for one with skulls, or else certain blues and purples myself
