Yes, Life's Quite an Adventure

Yes, Life's Quite an Adventure

A Poem by Jennie Baron
"

This is my effort at creating a poem from song titles of one band, namely Yes.

"

If you take a (roundabout) route

To the (heart of the sunrise)

And find yourself on the (south side of the sky)

(Yours is no disgrace).
(I’ve seen all good people) lose their way

And when they ask directions

Get only a (long distance runaround).

You may even find a kindred spirit

To accompany you on that road

And you won’t be the (owner of a lonely heart)

Because (love will find a way) somehow;

It always does.

If not, (hold on).

Whatever happens, surely at the end of the journey

We’ll have (wondrous stories) to tell.

(And you and I) will drink and laugh

And tell all our tales

Like (starship troopers)

Returned from adventures on distant worlds.

Thanks for letting me revisit this poem. If you are familiar with the band, you know their lyrics are brilliant, which made this almost write itself, so I can't take full credit. One of the most fun writing challenges I've ever done. I so appreciate your review.

"Yes, Life's Quite an Adventure"
Jennie Baron,
You entered into a writing collaboration with the lyric writer or writers of the band you chose. Super interesting how these various titles to songs lent themselves to the theme of life and beauty and even nature's inspiration. It must of been fun to share the creativity of another and filter it through your own way of thinking. A recycle so to say. This concept is really intriguing. I suppose we all pick up ideas from so many different places and I suppose this is another way. I have never seen it and it is clever.
Blessings,
Kathy

Very creative. Great idea integrating the songs with the poetry. Has a carefree "whatever happens" tone. Enjoyed this much.

That's great Jennie, i love Yes and this poem of included titles is a fine tribute and a humorous one too, getting lost by a 'Long Distance Runaround' in the passing of Chris it makes a nice tribute to his band, great writing my friend :)

:) Aw, thanks again.
Hm. This seems an answer to my previous review. :D

"To the heart of the sunrise" is a fabulous line.

NOTES: I don't think the parenthesis is necessary.
