Fireflies

Fireflies

A Poem by jenbem

Fireflies are the little lighted gems
of steamy summer nights
calling for midnight rendezvous’
on the dark edges of the woods.
We came, armed with glass jars and
young hearts, watching them
twinkle and tease like the
eyes of young lovers,
“catch me if you can”

This is lovely honey, and has rather more meaning to me than I realised, a demon called me his Firefly. Mx
