Lachrymosity

Lachrymosity

A Poem by The Autumn Faerie
"

My interpretation of the life of a tear.

"

Born an overwhelming swell of liquid-hot emotion,
She nears the edge swiftly, contemplating the end.
Stilling, cooling, swaying, daring--
Closer, closer, closer she stumbles.
She falls.
Down, down, down a rose-round cheek.
Flaunting her trail like a falling star.
Reaching the end of her journey,
A humble conclusion to a tumultuous beginning,
She sways,
As she prays, prays, prays--
For a better life, and longer days,
Bids her sisters a happier stay,
And falls, for one last time.
