some kind of blues

some kind of blues

A Poem by Jen
"

cds, cooking dinner... eh

"
i'm glad for your case, but sorry for mine
i learned that line from a CD
i am an uncool blues woman
i know this because i listen to the cool ones
bessie, dinah, etta
the thing that is here
(how uncool is that? here is the  thing
is that i know the feelings -some of them that
the cool blues women feel
me a pasty white, cellulite, flatu-lite
lady for real
no place for me here
i know
and i shrug and smile and sit
the hipsters rule
the soul-nirvana ladies soar
the erotica smutotica women roam
and the pasty faced soul ladies belong
in their own kinda crazy ol' world

This made me smile... I guess we all live a vicarious existence in the lives of other artists... and then we look in the mirror and remember we are just ordinary folks.... but maybe they do too, when they get ready for bed
