come closer

come closer here
i will whisper my noise
my altogether, don’t mind the weather,
redundant, thoughts i employ
hold fast to joy i say
gather up those moments
like flowers in a memory bouquet
don’t dawdle and dwell
in regret’s deepest well
look beyond sad
release the bad
in the end we are the sum
of how we are viewed and view
from this point, to where we’d begun
assert your right to be cross
to those who let you be their loss
be at peace with your own sense of right
of your own unique, wonderful light
take hold of the you held inside
be still, be real in your pride
do not forsake
do not take
your desires for fear
despite what you might hear
you are unique
more blessed than you think
a treasure
without measure
a new point of view
from a vantage that’s true
don’t budge, don’t rationalize
though some may categorize
you are a part
of life’s beating heart
so stay
and play
we should all have a say
