tentative tango / new beginning

tentative tango / new beginning

A Poem by Jen

the steps skip a beat
and my heart halts in between
where once was a theatrical thump
now resides a cautious thud
desire still flows and nudges and swoons
a fictional creation of a romantic inclination
a tentative step onto the dance floor
the tango beckons,
but experience reckons
safe and sure
wounds to cure
slow and steady
open mind is ready
cautious heart waiting
preconception abating

Only one person I know could have written this... Only one delightful mind could construct words with such delicate music, such desire, such hesitancy in the midst of courage... Hugs you very close in a slow dance, while the tears flow down
