Stone Sober

Stone Sober

A Poem by Jeff

She kissed me slowly

She held me softly

She whispered she loved me

She was always thinking of me

She just couldn't be with me

My soul is gone

My heart is broken

And I'm gone

From her Heaven

Said she couldn't stay

As she walked away

With my heart in tow

Leaving a wounded hero

Staring from a window

She held me close

Her voice echoes

Within my head

I still feel her in my bed

Her warm embrace

Her vibrant face

Laying next to me

But she couldn't stay with me

. moved to tears ... he left ... and i was bereft ... i sleep and weep on his blue pillow ... as if i were his widow ... but he never breathes a word ... as it love is just absurd ...
