Saving My Soul

Saving My Soul

A Poem by Jeff

Looking into my rearview

Years searching for angels

I dreamed of the perfect woman

Who would save my mortal soul

The perfect, unrequited love

Never did I think

The angel to save my soul

Would be born

On a cold January evening

A perfect love

That will always be there

I like what this piece is alluding to. Though I'm left wondering who was "born" on a cold January morning? A child? A hobby? Something else?
Even though there are answers not given to the reader, it also adds to the allure of the poem.
It is always good to have a reader thinking about your piece after reading it, for any reasons. There are so many piece I'll read through out the day I'll just forget about the moment I'm done reading. At least I'm thinking about the poem after I'm done reading.

Thanks for sharing.

Read through twice, just letting the beauty of the message flow through. How it is that one person can change us.. make us more than we could have been without them.. Your poem is a beautiful, devoted song of love for this angel..

a perfect love
that breeze
an aroma
beyond compare
born on a cold evening
but warm like sunshine
graceful and enchanting
but more than all of that
mine and forever

Aren't we all looking for angels almost always..:)
I would agree with the other review that your not revealing too much adds to the value of the poem..
Very well written.
