You and Me

You and Me

A Poem by Jeff

Your words cut through me

They slice into my heart

Leaving a gaping hole

That'll never be healed

Somedays I swear

You're hurting me

For some sick pleasure

To see me broken

You don't want me to hurt

You want me happy

Then return to my arms

Or leave me alone

I was there when it rained

I fought your demons

But I was never good enough

I could never win you over

Our little life wasn't perfect

But it could have been

If you had wanted it

Half as much as I did

Wow, this is straight from the heart and gut!
Pure emotions, this is powerful and well expressed.
