Hour of Darkness

Hour of Darkness

A Poem by Jeff

In this hour of darkness

My mind wanders to painless days

It seeks out joys and comforts

From the days of past lovers

Here I see her face

Like it was here yesterday

Her beautiful eyes shining bright

Inviting smile lighting up my days

Her lips blessing me with phantom kisses

This is all in my mind though

I haven't seen her years

I haven't thought of her in years

Now in my hour of darkness

She rises from the depths of my mind

To ease the loss of my true love

What a depth of experience.. one life can reach so powerfully into us. Here you reflect back on her love, and your life now is somehow still enriched, even in the darkness. Amazing connections.

we feel a disappointment here... almost a melancholy... lovely.
