The Day You Want Me Back

The Day You Want Me Back

A Poem by Jeff
"

Another poem about my ex. I'm just basing this off of our past.

"

The day will come when you think of me.

The day will come when you miss me.

You'll think of the way I loved you.

The way I had been there for you.

More than any other person.

Someday you'll want my arms around you again.

Someday you'll want to come home.

And someday you'll realize just what you left.

The day you want me back.

Will I still be there for you?

Will I still want to be with you?

Maybe I'll find a woman to love me.

Maybe I'll find a woman to trust me.

Maybe I'll find a woman to work it out.

Maybe she'll love me for my flaws.

She'll trust me with all of her heart.

Because she'll know that I'd never leave.

And if that day shall come.

What will you do?

Will you get angry?

Swing at me again?

Or will you leave without a word?

The day that you want me back.

Will come eventually.

You'll remember how hard I tried.

You'll remember everything I did.

You'll remember the words I wrote for you.

You'll want to try it again.

You'll say you've changed.

You'll say you're sorry.

But will I be there?

It's a beautiful piece about the repetitive and cyclical nature of relationships, and it's amusing to see that your predictions were 100% correct.
