One Foot Out The Door

One Foot Out The Door

A Poem by Jeff
"

Just a poem about my frustrations.

"

One foot out the door.

While the other sat inside.

Why did you bother with us?

When you always believed I'd leave.

Always thought I'd run to someone new.

No words, no actions could convince you otherwise.

I was always thinking of you.

Even when you thought I wasn't.

Yet you spied on me.

You followed me.

You looked for anything to make you believe.

That I would hurt you like every other man.

You loved me for years.

Yet when you got me.

You were already gone.

Expecting me to hurt you like all the others.

Expecting me to prove your prophecy.

You never gave me a chance.

You always waited for the bad news.

But it never came.

It never would have.

A sad state of affairs but all too prevalent. True love casts out all fears.jealousy becomes a self fulfilling prophecy
