Journey of Demons

I travel through this land

Trying to be as good as I need to be

Fighting demons of the past

Rising up with power and fear

I stand my ground like Husain

I'll martyr myself

To save the boy

They won't get him

Like they have me

I journey through my mind

Lost, but found within myself

Stepping outside myself

I can clearly see the flaws that everyone ignores

Or just don't see

Am I that hard to read

Or do I just hide it well enough

I don't want my boy

Where I am

So I try to be for him

What I never had

Without the blueprints

On how to be a father

Such a wonderful poem reflecting every emotional point of view. I love the story-line and background of the poem of trying to live through life fighting off the pain. Great write Jeff.
