Sonnet 19 (Shakespearean Style)

Sonnet 19 (Shakespearean Style)

A Poem by Jeff Miller

My angel, my princess, my one true love

I wonder…why did God send you to me?

Why did he send you, my perfect white dove?

You’re fairer than my eyes deserve to see.

I do not know how ‘tis I won your heart,

It is Earth’s most valuable treasure,

My Sarah I have known this from the start

And loving you shall be my best pleasure!

How could I resist who named me his star,

Who wrote about me, my lovely poet,

Jeff, my love, you showed me who ‘tis you are

Better yet you weren’t afraid to show it.

It was my choice to give my heart away

On November Thirtieth, the great day.

Author's Note

Jeff Miller
This sonnet is similar to Sonnet 18. In the first 8 lines it is spoken word between me. And in the last 6 lines it is the person I was adressing's reply.
