Non-Metrical Sonnet 1

Non-Metrical Sonnet 1

A Poem by Jeff Miller
"

There is no meter and the rhyme scheme is a sometimes slightly slanted A-A-A-A-B-B-B-B-C-C-C-C-D-D

"

It’s funny how one event can change the outcome

Even though it may seem only random

The fabric of time is a great conundrum

It moves on without asking for referendum

One change could change who you are

One change could erase a scar

One change could replace who is your Bright Star

One change could make far seem less far

Things could fall asunder

If you stop to wonder

About a previous blunder

Or if she would be you’re her

I think we should just be glad

And focus on what we have instead of what we could’ve had
