Yours to FrameA Poem by Jeff MillerThis isn't my best work...
I feel like I can be me with you
So I’m going be real with you
My eyes linger upon your face
And your eyes penetrate my defense
Your power over me is stronger than a steel-laced mace
It’s so hard to retract my stare
My attempt to convey my feelings is my flair
It’s amazing how your look is the semblance of an angel
Writing down my thoughts is a necessity, otherwise it would strangle
Constrict my lungs, fill them with less-favorable air
Because you are like oxygen, I can only breathe when you are there
My world without you is Earth without the Sun
My life without you is a fire, but no flame
My present and my future is yours to frame
You control my heart, you control this tale
All that’s left is to see if I succeed
Or if my attempts will amount to an epic fail…
