Sufference Of Our Souls

Sufference Of Our Souls

A Poem by Jeff Miller
"

The part in quotes were taken from Julius Caesar said by Brutus. In one of my writing classes we had to take a line from a great writer and continue where they left off.

"

“The sufferance of our souls, the time’s abuse”, is undeniable. We lie in our empty beds, thinking and wishing…that our missing piece was next to us. Everyone in their life has or will feel like something is missing from our lives. It tends to be centered on love, a passionate and fierce love, which we need to feel or exude. Most People’s missing piece is a person. We build them up, placing them on a pedestal, until we become dependent of them. However, that was not your intention. No one wants to become dependent upon anyone or anything. To arrive at our favored destination though, we must make sacrifices. And if your missing piece needs you as well, then you become interdependent.

It's almost hard to tell where Shakespeare left off, you flow with the quote very well! I love it! You could be a famous writer one day....

I like this. It is very well written and so true in what it says. We are all looking for our other half, wanting that other person and afraid at the same time. Not wanting to be dependent on someone else.
Enjoyed your writing very much.
