Why Do We Do This?A Poem by Jeff MillerWhy do we do this?
Reading and writing poetry or songs
Just so we can attempt to move on
It doesn't return that feeling of bliss
The words of this man
Doesn't change how we feel
It just acts as a fan
Falling deeper in love, even though we're trying to heal
We already feel sad
That is the reason for which we write
However, afterwards we don't feel glad
Other people in our works take delight
But don't you think we should get some benefits
For having to re-live all those moments?
I guess our gift is a curse
It starts from the time of our birth
Destined to be depressed for eternity
While the Earth just keeps on spinning...
