The Final CurtainA Poem by PoeFerMystery
I knew this misery; I’ve seen this tragedy.
All the dogs in the yard were barking cheerlessly. The cats were yowling, the cattles were bawling, The horses were snorting, in the barn of Manang Susing. Every people in that yard mourned with affliction, They trooped in a nook where tents are stationed. Bruises and pains, burdens and suffering; Lamentations and grief were the substance of their requiem. Yes! I knew I've been in this teary moment. The traces of cries and emotional event. The clucking of hens showing their condolence, To Manang Susing, for their very best friend. Mang Pedro, the husband, gave slices of bread, And cups of coffee from Lydia, he offered. I gave them comfort for that long, anguise day, To relieve their sorrow and unending melancholy. And now, the end is near; And so they face the final curtain. To which all things are clear, He did all great on his final swim. He lived a life that's full of venture; He travelled each wave and every highway; And more than his glossy, little glass quarter, He did it great by his own way. And so, my deja vu is now in the end, For my little friend, Erico, is in his final bedding. Those lonely days and nights have I reminisce, When they buried his twin sister, Erica- their beloved fish. © 2016 PoeFerAuthor's Note
