Moments

Moments

A Poem by Robert Luna
"

Just some thoughts. I hope you enjoy.

"
Laying,
my back pressed to the ground
free falling through the clouds
and heavens above
As it steals my breath away
the innocence
the carelessness
of it all

Telling myself to breathe easy
as I choke on the fresh air that pollutes my lungs
Finding wisdom of a lie
Life and Death
Have no rhyme or reason
In these moments before you die
Its not your life that pass before your eyes
Its the ones you leave behind

Tender moments of I love yous
Laughter and tears
Friends youve known throughout the years
These are things that you see
lifes important scenes
I am left to believe
maybe
This is a form of heaven

These moments when life
just seemed right
and you really felt alive
Death is not the end
merely a new beginning
of remembering who you were
and what you truly leave behind

Wow Robert, this could have been a inspirational piece, almost like a thought of the day - no more like something to live by, let's say motto for one's life.
Your words amazingly brings peace to my mind, knowing that as you have said so beautifully

Death is not the end
merely a new beginning
of remembering who you were
and what you truly leave behind

Omg, goosebumps - lots of them.
This piece is def going to my favs

oh and btw, great pic, works great with your poem!

Robert, I enjoyed this. I think everyone should spend at least 30 minutes a day just daydreaming. Daydreaming this way is always enjoyable. You've expressed that enjoyment very well here.

Oh WOW! Robert, this really sums up all of what life is about...
in the end, all we really have is the "moments" and memories of those who were important to us...
Really nicely written :)

This was beautiful.

"These moments when life
just seemed right
and you really felt alive
Death is not the end
merely a new beginning
of remembering who you were
and what you truly leave behind"

Personally, that explains the meaning of everything in my eyes.

i like the thoughts, ya know this might work better is you work out the rhythm a bit. i think it could be ten times better, not that i didnt enjoy it because i did but i do think it has more potential

Your poems are really fresh, inspiring, and optimistic. Especially this one. I love how you say death is not the end, but the new beginning.

I enjoyed this capturing of what might be a near-death or out-of-body experience, or just a very moving speculation. I especially like these lines:

I am left to believe
maybe
This is a form of heaven

It is as much the phrasing, especially, 'I am left to believe' I really like the ring of that...it sounds 'right' in all ways. And it sounds like someone speaking who has given the subject matter a lot of earnest thought. I also like the philosophical apsect to 'form of heaven'. This suggests that anyone may be able to enjoy such moments without necessarily qualifying for heaven or even believing in it. It is also optimistic to think that such pleasure may be had here on earth. Also the word 'believing' suggests humanity and a leap of faith after the mind has done its bit. Very enjoyble, sir!

This is really good. It's a very personal piece and the picture enhances the feelings as you read. The last part really sums up all that we feel, I love the part "Death is not the end merely a new beginning ". Well written.
