"Bittersweet"

"Bittersweet"

A Poem by Jeanne Broome
"

This was the final straw...I could take no more lie..it was over.1979

"

"Bittersweet"

My love is Bittersweet,

Can't stand all your deceit,

You say,"Just little lies"

It's different in my eyes.

No!..I can't dismiss,

Our love is based on this,

I can't stand those little lies,

Won't see them in my eyes.

I just can't look at you,

Your eyes..don't show me truth,

Don't want to fear those lies,

Held deep within your eyes.

My love is bittersweet,

Can't handle your conceit,

No trust is bitter...true,

Sweet was the love here too.

So what am I to do...

Please tell...I 'm asking you?

Don't want to feel...I'm Beat,

No Bitter with the Sweet.
