Our lives

Our lives

A Story by Jean-Luc

"It's a strange thought, that this will probably be the last world war fought by civilians" - How we won the war

How incredibly sad it is, to realize, acknowledge and understand what this statement is implying. What is sadder still, is I see no fault or misconception in this statement.  The act of knowingly sacrificing lives that do not belong to you - is barbaric, if not genocidal. It truly speaks of the divide between government, and said governments people. The lack of care and responsibility is shockingly apparent in most cases. Sadly money is todays ruler, and as long as your country is gaining even a small amount of wealth - keeping those who line their pockets smiling - one can be sure of this - your government will happily sacrifice your life for their benefit. Without a bat of an eyelid.  What an incredibly beautiful, yet tainted world we live in.

Of course I can see it and understand it from a governments perspective. However, there are correct and incorrect ways of attaining the same result.
