A concise prose. I'm not really a writer, so forgive me if it's terrible.A Story by Jdubbs1Just a thought a had while ago.
I'm not the hero of this story.
The pretentious cape just doesn't fit. I'm too reticent to bask in the embellished glory. My brain might atrophy if I try to think of any witty one-liners, that would intimidate or infuriate a villain. The excessive adulation I would be bombarded with for saving a few people from a burning building would seem meaningless if one poor soul couldn't accompany the survivors, as they give their harrowing account to reporters. I'm not the hero of this story. I'm just a human being who cares. Although I lack superhero strength, I'll do my best to pick you up when you fall down. When the nefarious characters of the world try backing you into a corner, I won't run or flee. I'll be right by your side, preparing to take a punch to the face. Even though our chances of winning the ensuing fight are exceedingly low, maybe my feeble attempt at bravery might galvanize someone to help those who are in need of immediate help. I'm not gifted with elegant speech that has the ability to pacify a belligerent throng to put down their arms, or even coax the masses to stop littering the streets with cigarettes buds. You won't hear any heroic speeches, that changes the course of history or deter someone from rendering themselves an utter jackass on a Friday night, from me, but I'll alway be there to listen when you have a problem, no matter how trivial or prodigious. Despite the fact I may sometimes, or frequently, can't find the right words to comfort you. Just know, you always have a shoulder to lean on. Yeah, It would be cool to stop a speeding bullet with my bare hands, but stopping just one tear from falling down your face would definitely make me feel like the hero of this story, even if it's just for a moment. © 2018 Jdubbs1 |
