Into the Unknown

A heart can be so perilous.

Love can be so dangerous.

I don't think I want to go down the same path twice.

But it looks that I just might.

I thought my chest had emptied.

I thought that love had left me.

Am I being sucked into a trap?

I don't want another mishap.

Should I take a chance and see what I can find?

Surrender to him completely my heart and mind?

I thought I had lost my heart.

But I think I've lost my mind.

I don't want to be hurt again. 

So how do I know I can trust him with my heart then?
