DuskA Poem by JbThat’s about all for the light, he thought to himself as he
sat on the front porch. The hill began to fade into silhouettes of black mass
against the dying sun. The clouds lingered, transfixed by remnants of the light. The day was cooled by a light evening breeze as it drifted
up the hollow. It was like a recurrent dream witnessing the death of the
day. It whispered “remember, remember” things long
forgotten. There is an eerie chill in some memories; some meant to recall not the actual event but the feeling, while others are the twist in the gut better left alone. Tonight was a feeling of innocence. A feeling of peace that had been absent in recent years. You can spend too much time bottling up your emotions and not enough time letting them go. Tonight he let his guard down just enough to capture a moment of innocent peace. It caught him by surprise, and he was glad of it. © 2019 JbReviews
