Summer Bliss

Summer Bliss

A Poem by Jazz
"

A poem about the sights and sounds of summer.

"

Bathed in warmth and living a life of innocent bliss,
Two shy lovers nervously share that tender first kiss.

Strawberries and raspberries surrender to countless children
Who trek ravenously through their fields like holy pilgrims.

By the sea, families munch on candy floss and sticks of rock
And out in the crystalline waters there sails a majestic yacht.

At the park, youngsters joyfully play every day of the week
Much loved games such as tag, football, Frisbee and hide and seek.

In the busy streets that striking melody suddenly sounds
And crowds flock to their local ice cream van for miles around.

These are the sights and sounds of an English summer of bliss,
Be you a man or woman, young or old they are not to be missed!
