All About LoveA Poem by Jazmine DevineMore of a lyrical thing...I want to stand out from the crowd. Trying not to look down. While walking across the tightrope above this town. They are all looking up at me. And I know They want to drag me right back down. Somehow, I'm trying to put my heart on a page. And trying to find the right words to sing. This one question remains. Why are all songs about love? Why are we so insecure? Why do we depend on one person to run our world? I'm standing here trying to match the words. To the perfect tune in my head but nothing ever works. All I want to know is why. Why are all songs about love? Why are all songs about love? I don't know why it is so hard. To write the perfect song without drowning in this sea of ordinary. I have wasted so many hours and days trying to make this work. Putting my heart on a page. Finding the right words to sing. Still, a question remains. Why are all songs about love? Why are we so insecure? Why do we depend on one person to run our world? I'm standing here trying to match the words. To the perfect tune in my head but nothing ever works. All I want to know is why. Why are all songs about love? Why are all songs about love? The piano I play is catching the tears I cry. No matter how hard I try I cannot find one thing that doesn't relate to you. Why are all songs about love? Why are we so insecure? Why do we depend on one person to run our world? I'm standing here trying to match the words. To the perfect tune in my head but nothing ever works. Why are we so insecure? Why do we depend on one person to run our world?
