Land of Charcoal RainbowsA Poem by Jazmine DevineA poem about a dream inside of a dream. In my land of charcoal rainbows, the bugs and birds sing to me. In my deep empty forest, even the tears are impossible to see. In my bright magenta sky, the clouds are filled with pink cotton. In this vast wonderland, nothing seems to be rotten. In my land of charcoal rainbows, the chocolate never melts. In my slow blue river, the water heals my skin's welts. In my enchanted garden, the trees whisper in the breeze. In this astonishing world, nothing seems to tease. In my land of charcoal rainbows, everything is too sweet. In my sunny, grassy fields, the birds have stopped their tweets. In my beautiful playground, I seem to be the only. In my always summer season, everything is lonely. In my land of charcoal rainbows, this can't be real. In my soft patch of clovers, there isn't anything to feel. In my limitless world, i know I must leave. In this once good dream, I must awake to be.
