Be Free

Be Free

A Poem by Jeremiah Medina

We're surrounded by pressure
Modern day society
We must act like the rest
Gravity is enough pressure for me
Blocking them outs so much easier
But it's hard to ignore the walls
Are their standards the highest?
Does success matter at all?
What will become of us?
All our petty concerns
The majority will never know
The power that they individually have
Our potential goes to waste
Bombarded with possibilities
Mind fucked in every way
Plugged in and erased
Brainwashing electric toys
They have you in their palms
Awareness is key
What's going on?
In this moment
Can you honestly say?
You're here in the present
That you are free
That anything is possible
With out fear or hate
How many times have you died in your own mind?
What if every thought had power?
What if with every thought of death,
you killed yourself a little?
Maybe you've died a million times
Or you're already dead
Hold on to your energy
I'll race you to the end
Everything has meaning
Observe the slightest change
Experience the force of nature
Feel the connection to it all
Now disconnect
All in one,
one in all.
You are everything and nothing.
Embrace this chaos.
Be free.
