If Only You KnewA Poem by Jeremiah MedinaThe greatest thing you'll ever learn, is just to love and be loved in return.- Nat King Cole
On the edge of the darkness
Of your sickest dreams And they scream in my ears WHAT IS IT THAT YOU SEEK? As I stand in wonder Shock and disbelief. My only answer: WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME? I can hear the whispers As I can feel your fear Does it bother you I notice? Everything that you hold dear Do you think I asked for this? To feel it all so clear As if I could become you Like I would even dare You wouldn't take that chance You couldn't face the facts The honesty so pure Like a mirror to the past. Denial is your own The weakness of your soul Tormented the unknown WHY? I SHOULDN'T KNOW. But you claim I can trust you When you can't even trust Defending your guilty conscience That old machine that rusts. I wont point a finger No casting shadow of blame If I have to kill you I'll swim through oceans of flame But I wont stoop so low You can dig your own grave I swear by my soul That all can still be saved Don't mind what you cant see? Waiting, Starring face up, catch a star. Thinking, Too much, Hope it scars. Breathing? Who knows? I can't tell. Living? A blessing. Embrace this hell. Love's the only reason. Keep it real. Nothing else is necessary. Every other thing you feel. Just a waste of paradise. The light of life, it stands in wait Longing to reveal, longing to escape this hate. © 2011 Jeremiah Medina |
